EAEA Joins Partners to Launch ECO-FOOD Uganda Project for Inclusive Agri-Food Development
Kampala, Uganda | 17 April 2026 — The East Africa Entrepreneurs Association (EAEA) participated in the official launch of the ECO-FOOD Uganda Project at Four Points by Sheraton Hotel, Kampala, as one of the implementing partners.
ĵThe project, titled “Sustainability and Inclusive Agri-Food Chains for Women and Persons with Disabilities,” seeks to promote sustainable agriculture, food security, inclusive livelihoods, and resilient agri-food value chains in Uganda.
Funded through the Italian Cooperation under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy, the three-year project has a total budget of EUR 2.106 million, approximately UGX 8.8 billion. It will be implemented in Adjumani, Kole, and Lira Districts, reaching about 6,142 beneficiaries, including women, youth, persons with disabilities, vulnerable smallholder farmers, and rural communities.
EAEA was represented by Mr. Tony Wamala and Ms. Joanita Kiwanuka Nakiwala. As an implementing partner, EAEA’s role aligns with its mandate to support entrepreneurship, business development services, value addition, market access, and inclusive private sector participation.
Through the project, EAEA will contribute to strengthening enterprise readiness, market linkages, sustainable value chains, inclusive business development, and community-based economic activities.
The launch marked an important milestone in advancing inclusive agricultural transformation, sustainable livelihoods, and economic empowerment in Uganda.
