BEast Africa Entrepreneurs Association (EAEA) in collaboration with Uganda Investment Authority (UIA) and Jilin Province of the People’s Republic of China organized the China-Uganda Economic and Trade Exchange Meeting on  Tuesday, 02nd April, 2019  at the Sheraton Hotel, Rwenzori Ball Room B, Kampala, Uganda.
The objectives of the meeting were;
- Promote trade and Investment cooperation between China and Uganda.
- Create a networking platform for B2B exchanges.
- Provide business leaders with a platform to explore business and Investment opportunities in Uganda.
The Target Sectors of interest were; Agriculture, manufacturing, Energy, Export and Import trading, Information technology.
The breakfast meeting at Sheraton hotel was graced by the Vice President H.E Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi, Dr. Crispus Kiyonga-ambassador of Uganda to China. The delegation from Jilin Province was led by Mr. Bayinchaolu, member of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and secretary of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee, Ms. Zhao Xiufen – Economic and Commercial Counsellor amongst other dignitaries.

by Hon. Crispus Kiyonga, Uganda’s Ambassador to China
Hon. Kiyonga highlighted that the Government of the Republic of Uganda and the Government of the People’s Republic of China have had a cordial relationship for a long time. China has made significant contributions to Uganda’s Agricultural sector development including provision of project aid to Uganda in form of interest-free loans and grants.
Uganda is one of the biggest importer of China commodities and leading contractor of several government construction projects
Uganda and Jilin Province have good quality land, water, sun. Therefore, there is need to share potential with Jilin technology, capital, tourism and mineral development. He re-affirmed the need to work on market access through the Jilin province to the rest of China.

Mr. Bayinchaolu, member of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee
and secretary of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee
Mr. Bayinchaolu reaffirmed that China will promote the joint construction on various Road projects, and also strengthen bilateral cooperation in agriculture, poverty alleviation, industrial parks at local levels
Mr. Bayinchaolu later met with President Yoweri Museveni in Gulu and both parties agreed to work together for a mutual benefit of their countries.

In his remarks, Mr. Byensi welcomed the Chinese delegation and took them through the investment opportunities and incentives available geared towards promoting both local and foreign investment in the country
