Bonn, Germany — The East Africa Entrepreneurs Association (EAEA) was pleased to participate alongside the Uganda delegation at the UNFCCC SB64 Session held in Bonn City, Germany.
The UNFCCC SB64 Session brought together government representatives, development partners, climate experts, civil society organizations, private sector actors, and other key stakeholders to advance global discussions on climate action, adaptation, mitigation, climate finance, technology transfer, capacity building, and the implementation of international climate commitments.
For EAEA, participation in the SB64 Session was an important opportunity to contribute to global climate dialogue from the perspective of entrepreneurs, MSMEs, farmers, exporters, innovators, and private sector institutions across East Africa. Climate change continues to affect key sectors such as agriculture, energy, manufacturing, transport, trade, waste management, and food systems. As such, the role of entrepreneurs in building climate-resilient and sustainable economies cannot be overemphasized.
During the session, EAEA engaged with various stakeholders and explored opportunities for collaboration in areas such as green business development, climate-smart agriculture, sustainable value chains, circular economy, technology transfer, youth innovation, and inclusive enterprise growth.
EAEA believes that MSMEs must be positioned at the centre of climate action. Entrepreneurs are not only affected by climate change, but they are also part of the solution through innovation, job creation, sustainable production, clean technologies, and community-based climate adaptation.
On the sidelines of the UNFCCC SB64 Session, Uganda’s Ambassador to Germany, H.E. Amb. Stephen Mubiru, hosted the Ugandan delegation to a dinner get-together in Bonn City. EAEA extends sincere appreciation to H.E. Amb. Stephen Mubiru for his warm hospitality and continued support towards Uganda’s participation in international engagements.
EAEA also extends special appreciation to Second Officer Ms. Jessica Namuddu for her dedicated coordination and support to the delegation during the session.
The participation at UNFCCC SB64 further strengthens EAEA’s commitment to promoting sustainable enterprise development, green investment, climate resilience, and inclusive economic transformation across East Africa.
As an association, EAEA remains committed to working with government institutions, development partners, private sector actors, and global stakeholders to unlock opportunities for entrepreneurs within the green economy and sustainable development agenda.
