Courtesy Visit by LVRLAC at EAEA Uganda Offices

Lake Victoria Region Local Authorities Co-operation made a courtesy visit to EAEA to identify areas of collaborations in promoting Entrepreneurship in East Africa on Friday, 26th October, 2018

LVRLAC is a network organization of local authorities (Mayors, Town Clerks, District Environment officers, District Commercial Officers, Urban Planners, Municipality leaders, among others) around Lake Victoria with the mandate to coordinate and strengthen collaborative efforts within the Lake Victoria Basin to sustainably harness the region’s resources and promote the wellbeing of the riparian communities.

Among the key issues discussed:

  • Promoting Lake Victoria as a tourist attraction
    Improving transport infrastructure on the lake for easy connectivity within the EAC
  • Equipping entrepreneurship skills among the communities around the lake especially the youth and women
  • Adopting the best practices that encourage business while preserving natural resources
